Privacy
Your personal data.
The website asks only for what is useful to understand your needs and contact you. No account to create and no profiling.
Who processes your information
The data controller is Christopher Lacavé, a French sole trader operating the Chris Carchaser website. His professional details appear in the legal notice.
What is collected
The form collects your request, first name, email, message and, where relevant, vehicle and call-back availability. These details help us understand and handle your enquiry. Phone is optional except for a call back. Without the required fields, the form cannot be submitted; you may also email us directly.
The language and originating page are recorded for follow-up. If you use Radar, we also record the vehicle or model you enter, any criteria, your chosen channel (WhatsApp or email), and the contact detail required for that channel. Please do not include identity documents, bank details or other sensitive information in your message.
Purposes and legal bases
Service enquiries are processed to take pre-contractual steps at your request and, if you appoint us, perform the contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Other correspondence and protection against abuse rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and securing the service (Article 6(1)(f)). Statutory and accounting records are retained under Article 6(1)(c).
Your data is not sold or used to subscribe you to a newsletter. When you request a Radar alert by WhatsApp or email, that channel is used only for the relevant matches or updates you requested; you may withdraw that request at any time. No decision with legal effects on you is made automatically.
Retention and recipients
Enquiries without an assignment are retained for up to three years after the last exchange. For an assignment, necessary information is kept during the service, then archived only for legal obligations or legal claims within applicable time limits. Accounting documents are retained for ten years from the close of the relevant financial year.
Christopher Lacavé accesses enquiries. Cloudflare provides hosting, storage and security. When you email us, the email provider also processes that exchange. Data is not shared with commercial partners for their marketing.
Your rights
Subject to GDPR conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Contact us by email or by post at the address in the legal notice without completing the commercial enquiry form.
We reply within one month. Complex or numerous requests may require a two-month extension; we will explain this within the first month. Proof of identity is requested only in cases of reasonable doubt.
If you believe your request has not been handled correctly, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
Cookies and security
When a form is saved or a WhatsApp link is prepared, we increment a daily counter by language and source category, where known. These totals are kept for 90 days to understand how the site generates enquiries. These counters store no analytics cookie, visitor identifier, full referring URL or link to your customer record. They do not prove that a WhatsApp message was sent. The browser’s DNT and GPC privacy preferences disable this counting.
The site installs no advertising cookies and embeds no Instagram player. Third-party links only load those services when opened. Cookies strictly necessary for security or access to private areas may be used.
To limit abusive submissions, a cryptographic fingerprint of the IP address and attempt time are processed. The IP number is not added to your enquiry. Recent attempts enforce submission limits; older entries are cleaned up during operation. The host also processes technical connection data to route and protect traffic.
Hosting and international transfers
Cloudflare operates global infrastructure: processing may occur outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Its data processing addendum sets out applicable safeguards, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Read the addendum below or contact us for details of safeguards relating to your data.
